Empowering Young People Through Education, Faith, and Compassion
Ignite 1 for Christ Foundation began in 2024, inspired by the Ignite team's school and community outreach ministry in Butere, Kenya. The foundation was born out of a desire to respond to the needs of vulnerable children and young people by providing practical support, spiritual guidance, and hope for a better future.
During a school ministry visit to Muyundi Secondary School, the team encountered a girl who was struggling with basic school requirements, including a school uniform. Moved by her situation, the team came together and contributed what they could to help provide her with a new uniform and books and clear her outstanding school balances.
This experience strengthened the team's commitment to supporting needy students and became one of the foundations of the initiative.
How one student's story shows what compassion, generosity and faith can do.
During a door-to-door community outreach, the Ignite team met James Shisia, a Grade 7 student who had been unable to attend school because of school fees.
James's story touched the hearts of the team. He lost his mother when he was just two years old, and his father has been unwell and unable to provide for his needs. As a result, James has been living under the care of his grandmother, who has been supporting him despite their challenging circumstances.
Recognizing the difficulties they faced, the Ignite team came together to raise funds to help James return to school. Beyond educational assistance, the foundation has also been extending support to both James and his grandmother, helping them navigate their circumstances with hope and dignity.
The team has further committed to mentoring and discipling James, providing spiritual encouragement alongside educational support.
Through God's grace and the continued support of our team members, friends, and well-wishers, James has progressed through his junior secondary education, reaching Grade 9 in 2026. His journey reflects the impact of compassion, generosity, faith, and collective responsibility in transforming young lives.
We are grateful to God and to everyone who has contributed financially, through prayer, or in other ways to support James and his grandmother. Their journey reminds us why Ignite 1 for Christ Foundation exists: to stand with vulnerable children and families, provide hope where it is needed, and create opportunities for a brighter future.

Our mission is to support vulnerable children and young people through educational assistance, spiritual mentorship, and community outreach, helping them grow into responsible, educated, and God-fearing individuals.
We currently focus on partial educational sponsorships, with the long-term goal of expanding our capacity to provide full sponsorships to more deserving students.
Our vision is to build a generation of educated, spiritually grounded, and responsible young people who will positively transform their communities and become future leaders.
We envision a future where every child, regardless of their background or financial circumstances, has an opportunity to receive an education, grow spiritually, and discover their God-given potential.
Through our work, we aspire to nurture a generation that is not only academically equipped but also rooted in faith, guided by integrity, and committed to serving others.
Ignite 1 for Christ Foundation focuses on the following areas:
We provide partial sponsorships and assistance with school fees, uniforms, books, and other essential learning materials to help needy students access and continue their education.
We encourage young people to grow in faith, develop strong moral values, and strengthen their relationship with God.

Recognizing that a child's well-being is closely connected to their home environment, we also seek to support vulnerable families and caregivers whenever possible.

This project is an academic sponsorship initiative presented by the Ignite 1 for Christ Foundation. It focuses on securing secondary school education for James Shisia, a long-time beneficiary supported by the foundation since Grade 7. Having completed Grade 9 in 2026, the project targets raising $389 to fund his transition into High School for the 2027 academic year.

This community outreach drive is a health, hygiene, and dignity project organized by the Ignite 1 for Christ Foundation. It mobilizes community donations to support school-going children—especially young girls—with sanitary towels and essential daily items.
